Meet Dr. Franklin Awah – Amarillo Oral Surgeon

My interest in healthcare began at a young age when I saw the critical role it plays in the community. I witnessed the strong bond and trust between dental providers and their patients, which inspired me to pursue a career in dentistry. I attended the University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC) for both my undergraduate studies and dental school, where I excelled clinically and was honored with the Oral Surgery Student Award.

After dental school, I completed a six-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), during which I also earned my medical degree (MD). My residency provided extensive training in anesthesia, corrective jaw surgery, and dental implants, and I was honored to serve as chief resident during my final year.​
I am board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and am a member of the American Dental Association. I am passionate about helping patients regain their smile and confidence, and my favorite procedures include wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, and corrective jaw surgery.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on the Katy Trail or catching a Mavericks game. I am excited to join this practice and to serve the Texas Panhandle community.
