WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants are tiny titanium posts surgically inserted into the jaw bone to act as tooth root substitutes. They are directly placed into the jaw bone. The bone integrates with the posts, creating a strong foundation for dental restorations. Another small post is then attached to the  dental implant, which protrudes through the gums.

These posts provide stable anchors for dental restorations, which are made just for you. Dental implants also help preserve facial structure by preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.

DENTAL IMPLANTS PROCEDURE

Dental implants are placed within your jaw bone. For the first two to four months following surgery, the dental implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually integrate with the jaw bone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At
the same time, your dentist is forming new replacement teeth.

After the dental implant has integrated to the jaw bone, the second phase begins. Your doctor will uncover the dental implants and attach an abutment, which will act as an anchor for the dental restoration.

STRAUMANN® ALLOGRAFT RING
Panhandle Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is proud to announce we are now performing the Straumann® AlloGraft Ring technique for dental implants. The AlloGraft Ring is a prefabricated ring made of processed allogenic donor bone provided by LifeNet Health®.

Dr. Bailey has been performing oral surgery for more than 20 years and has witnessed first-hand the frustrations and difficulties that accompany implant surgeries. Traditional dental implants require multiple surgeries and a long recovery period.

That's why Panhandle Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is offering this revolutionary dental implant procedure. By cutting healing time in half and eliminating the need for multiple surgeries, the AlloGraft bone ring allows patients to regain a natural smile and improved oral function faster.

Dr. Bailey is the only oral surgeon trained to perform this procedure in this area. If you are interested in learning more about the AlloGraft Ring, contact us to schedule consultation.
